UConn and Sportsnet New York (SNY) Reach Partnership

“UConn and SportsNet New York (SNY) will announce a partnership Thursday that, sources said Wednesday, will put up to 300 hours of UConn-related sports programming on the network. Now, some 120 hours of live UConn programming are expected to be shown on SNY and another 180 hours are expected to include programming such as coaches’ shows and highlights. SNY is not currently carried by Comcast, Charter or Cox Cable, but Comcast is expected to announce that it is adding SNY.”

Currently UConn Football and Men’s Basketball games that are not broadcast on ESPN are available on MyTV9.

SNY is a growing network, with customers in NYC, New York State, New Jersey, and some of Conn. It’s a great opportunity for UConn to showcase themselves to large audience. The deal could help with recruiting, TV money brought into the athletic department, as well advertising for the university in general.
